How To Improve Your Home Office

Is your home office becoming grimmer and grimmer with each passing day? Do you start your work unwillingly? How can you change your surroundings, in order to make it more appealing, stimulating and pleasant? These simple advice can do a lot to help you prevent daily routine and to make you find new source of enthusiasm in your daily obligations.

Where to start?

First thing you should consider are your feelings and reactions. Pay attention on how you react when you lay your eyes upon specific things from, for example, your desk. Mark those items that make you feel bad, pessimistic, or whichever negative feeling you perceive. Take out those “triggers” and replace them with new ones, which will be more suited for you. It is well-advised to experiment with colors, test your eyes with a green colored telephone, or bright blue keyboard. By making a colorful surrounding you will be more focused, as there is no pattern and routine. Also, you can bring a plan and put it one corner of your table. It will give vivid image of life and progress and it has been also proven that green color can rest your eyes and calm down blood pressure. In long-terms, stress will also be significantly decreased which will lead to increase of your overall health.

Now what?

If you got rid of visible triggers of your bad mood, next thing that you should pay attention to are those less visible. If you have any malfunctioning pieces of equipment, replace them. When everything is in perfect condition your mood will also increase accordingly. If your computer is showing signs of obsolescence, perhaps is the time to replace it with a new one. You can order your new equipment online in order to save money and time. So, your new 27 inch monitor, 8 GB of extra RAM memory, or an extra 1 TB hard drive is just a click away. Also, import some pictures of your dear person, and it will remind you of the goal you desire to achieve. You can also play CD of your favorite band for a few minutes. It will boost your mood, and the results will be seen and felt immediately. But, the most important things lay within you. You must find motivation to continue within yourself. That spark that drove you forward and maintain it alive. In order to keep new and fresh each day, change an item daily. Today change the place of your telephone, tomorrow change the position and layout of papers which lay on your table, etc. Avoid keeping your desk overburdened with papers and delayed tasks. Tackle each problem as soon as you can – don’t delay them because it will create unnecessary pressure later leaving you unmotivated for work.

When everything said is considered, you should give your best to progress on this level in order to be healthier, stress relieved, and ultimately this will lead to improvement of your results. Who knows, maybe your decisions made today will affect your future, in much better way than you expected.
